On Friday racing fans can meet the jockeys riding at the Air Mauritius International Jockeys’ Challenge, a six-race test that will pit South Africa’s best against a team of top-class riders from abroad.

The teams for the Air Mauritius International Jockeys’ Challenge have been finalised and some well-known UK jockeys will be flying to South Africa for the test. It will be held at one venue this year, Turffontein on Sunday 19 November, and the test will be held over six races.

Frankie Dettori, whose Cape Derby win in January was to presage a highly successful British season, will be back in South Africa in mid-November as a member of the visiting international jockeys’ team.
