A half-sister to dual Horse Of The Year Legal Eagle will keep buyers seated till late at Friday’s CTS Lanzerac Ready To Run Sale.
She’s an unnamed bay by Pomodoro from Young Sensation, consigned by Far End Stud and her lot number is 146, the last two-year-old who will pass through the ring at the sale.
A daughter of a Durban July winner and a direct descendant of the great mare Ethane, she’s out of a Grade 1-placed daughter of champion National Emblem, and a half-sister to three winners including the famous Grade 1 winner.
“She is not the biggest of fillies, but she has a nice big action, she moves very well. She may take a bit of time, but she could be a classic type,” Far End’s Jane Thomas said of the filly, who was bred on the 20/20 Grade 1 Goldmine Mating System used by a number of leading breeders.
The dam, Young Sensation, was sold in foal to Greys Inn at the CTS Fillies and Mares for Stud Sale earlier this year. – CTS.
The BSA Johannesburg Mixed Sale will be held at the Randjesfontein Training Centre Clubhouse on Wednesday and offers buyers the chance to acquire well-bred potential broodmares as well as horses who have already run or are winners.

Lot 7 Tipping Point – this winning daughter of Philanthropist is a half-sister to two stakes winners including Grade 3 Matchem Stakes hero Changingoftheguard
Lot 10 Triple It – an unraced three-year-old, this filly is by champion sire Trippi out of 12-time stakes winning millionaire Mannequin.
Lot 13 Yaamen – fourth on his only start over 1200m, this three-year-old is a son of champion sire Silvano out of Oaks winner Tajmeel.
Lot 17 Captain My Captain – regally bred son of champion sire Captain Al, he won a good race last time out and can surely build on that, having competed against the likes of Bold Respect, Dutch Philip and Gold Image.
Lot 21 Hot Curry – a son of Judpot won again last time out and has now won two of his last four.
Lot 22 Hungry Heart – a filly with loads of broodmare appeal, she is a winning half-sister to Fillies Guineas winner Maybe Yes.
