Larry Foley: There should be a healthy crowd at Friday’s stand-alone meeting when Nowyousee tries his hand at Kranji Stakes A level in Race 7 over 1100m.
Already being billed as “the next big thing in Singapore”, this three-year-old has perhaps yet to fully cash in on his potential, but three wins from four career starts is a solid building block to what could be a very good career.
A lot of the hype comes from his scintillating trial form but he should improve again with race experience and can win with 49kg from a fair gate with South African jockey Nooresh Juglall aboard.
The good horse with the runs on the board is the top-weight, Nova Swiss. A six-time winner on the Polytrack, with the last win at this level over 1000m, this four-year-old is more than up to giving some 9kg to Nowyousee but his new jockey, Ryan Curatolo, will need luck on his side after drawing the widest draw.
His stable-mate, Nova Missle also comes under notice back on the Polytrack while Constant Justice is gunning for a hat-trick of wins and Distinctive Darci, with a gear change, should figure in the finish.
Best Bets: (Excellency Race 8, Win), (Conilad Race 3, value) and (Tun O’Reilly Race 5, value).
