Ken Nicol: Newly crowned champion jockey Lyle Hewitson makes his return from injury on Saturday, taking a couple for the Sean Tarry yard at Turffontein.
He partners handicappers New Zealand and Count Tassilo in races 6 and 9 respectively.
And it’s well timed as well, as he will be jetting off to Singapore next week to take part in the inaugural PGI Jockeys Challenge, presented by Phumelela Gaming & Leisure and TABCORP.
Clearly delighted to be back in the fray, he posted the following on Instagram:
lylehewitson: Looking forward to being back in the race saddle & making my seasonal debut on Saturday after an injury enforced break 🐎💨
Thanks to everyone involved who helped with the recovery and I’m keen to get back to best 🙌🏻💪🏻🤞🏻
