Ken Nicol: Aldo Domeyer scored an overdue third victory in Hong Kong when successful on the sway backed Everbrave in the opener at Happy Valley on Wednesday.
The horse lived up to his name as well, as he had to dig down deep to score by three quarters over favourite Hong Kong Win in a handicap over 1000m.
This was Domeyer’s first win since scoring a sensational double in his opening Hong Kong meeting on 1 May.
And it would give him a timely boost as he is set to sit out the next two meetings due to a suspension picked up on Saturday 11 May.
It quickly turned into an even better day for South African connections when Grant van Niekerk won Race 3 on free striding outsider Lucky Girl.
She returned a meaty R35.90 on our local tote.
SA bound Mauritian Karis Teetan then chimed in with a double later in the day as he brought home Hong Kong bet in Race 5 and Brave Legend in Race 8.
