KZN Falcons win Rider Cup

The KZN Falcons were victorious for the first time in the New Turf Carriers Rider Cup jockeys challenge at Greyville after Anton Marcus and Keagan de Melo came home 1-2 in the final leg Race 6.

Marcus won convincingly on Gimme A Cohiba, While De Melo was runner up on Gibraltar Green. 

The two time defending champion Highveld Hawks made a great start and led after two legs.

But the Falcons won both of the final two events  to run out convincing winners with 161 points. 

The Cape Eagles finished second on 135 points and the Hawks  last place on 130 points.

The Victor Ludorum for leading rider went to Keagan de Melo of the Falcons, who amassed 59 points. Bernard Fayd’Herbe was second on 47, and Muzi Yeni third on 44.
