Brendan Gaillard: Dutch Philip makes his Port Elizabeth debut for trainer Yvette Bremner.
Linngari filly Blushing Bride has run some decent races in fields stronger than she meets in a Maiden Plate at Fairview on Friday looks hard to beat in Race 3 over 1400m.
This three-year-old filly steps up in distance and is not well drawn but with the services of Richard Fourie looks likely to use this likely maiden win as a stepping stone for a crack at some feature races later this season.
Her only real threat is Mistress Of Means who returns to the grass after a couple of disappointing runs on the Polytrack.
This looks a competitive meeting but one runner who could pop up and score at eachway odds is Rock The Cot in Race 5. Trainer Grant Paddock has his horses well at the moment and this Rock Of Rochelle gelding returns to the grass after a modest last effort.
His runner-up finish behind the improving Dubula over this course and distance in June could be the right form.
Dutch Philip was a top two-year-old and was also promising at three and four years but has lost a bit of his gloss lately. A change of trainers could see this recent Yvette Bremner recruit return to form and he could win Race 6.
The Listed Jockey Club Stakes, Race 7, looks very open and most of the field come here in good form, but it could be Woodstock Fairy who finishes best of all to score.
She finished full of running last time out and is clearly thriving under trainer Alan Greeff.
