Brendan Gaillard: Australian import Sir Frenchie has clearly taken a fancy to racing in the Eastern Cape and has won three of his six starts at this centre.
On Friday he could up that tally when he contests Race 6, a Pinnacle Stakes over 1400m on the Fairview Polytrack.
Sir Frenchie steps up in distance from his last win over 1200m but regular rider Richard Fourie knows how to get the best out of this Choisir gelding, having been aboard for three wins in the four times he has ridden him this year.
A wide draw is not a major concern over this course and distance and particularly in this case, as Sir Frenchie is often slowly away.
Trainer Alan Greeff has a strong hand in Race 8 with three runners, all of whom have a winning chance in a competitive field.
There could be value with the Xolane Ndlovu-ridden Seville. This Duke Of Marmalade four year-old looked to be going nowhere recently until blinkers were put on him and the change has been dramatic.
Seville was unlucky when touched off by Para Handy, who is decent enough on his day. He followed that up with a wide margin win over the same course and distance as this race and then was again unlucky behind Sailor Sam.
Earlier on in the card, in Race 3, taking a Swinger with Coin Mistress and Ascending Heights could be worthwhile.
Coin Mistress ran a much-improved race when runner-up last time out and should be right there at the finish.
Ascending Heights has shown promise in both her starts and should also go close to winning.
