GLEN KOTZEN

Ken Nicol: Miraculously Ours is overdue a second win and looks good for a decent wager at Kenilworth on Wednesday.

The Glen Kotzen outfit is in good form and this son of Silvano has finished strongly in all three post-maiden appearances. He now tries 2400m, which on style of racing seems likely to be just what the doctor ordered.

Title-chasing Warren Kennedy takes the ride and should leave Cape Town at least one step closer to the championship.

He makes a clear first choice but faces opposition from top-weight Anse Lazio and Earl Of Warwick, who both have useful form and have proven they get the distance.

Candice Bass-Robinson is another trainer who has hit her stride lately and can be expected to dominate Race 3, a fillies Maiden Plate over 1400m.

Proclaimer appears the right one. This Dynasty filly ran on stoutly to get within a neck of form winner and fellow stable inmate Joy Maisha last time when trying this trip.

A repeat would be enough to see her shed her maiden tag at the fourth time of asking.

Diminutive Reef Knot provides solid back up for the yard. She was only a length off our selection last time and may well come out second best.

One who could turn out a decent value bet is Double Charge in Race 2.

This Andre Nel- trained Twice Over colt found solid betting support on debut but failed to quicken after racing handy in a reasonably strong Maiden field form wise.

He now faces a moderate looking bunch over the same 1200m, with only Speed Of Night having anything resembling winning form.

Any further market interest should be respected, as this one is clearly showing up well at home.
