Soqrat scratched from Sun Met

After a disappointing eighth place finish in the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate on Saturday at Kenilworth, Soqrat has now been scratched from running in the Sun Met.

According to trainer Mike de Kock, jockey Callan Murray reported that Soqrat got very stressed at the starting gate with the 20 minute delay before the running of the Queen’s Plate.

The horse was also slightly distressed post race.

“I can’t see him bouncing back in 3 weeks… regroup, have a rest and get ready for Autumn season,” De Kock said.

“He has been on the boil for a long time.” – Phumelela
