Larry Foley – Singapore: Gong Xi Fa Cai! – Happy Chinese New Year
Social racing doesn’t get much better than the Chinese New Year meeting in Singapore and a cracking card on Sunday won’t disappoint punters.
The Fortune Bowl is the highlight of what is a good card and the race doesn’t disappoint the occasion with some Singapore horse with the best credentials being challenged by some of Singapore’s most progressive ones.
War Affair and Countofmontecristo top the ratings but it’s the latter who gets to carry 1kg less (56kg) and that counts for plenty given the form “The Count” was in last year, which included a Group win over 1200m.
But while Countofmontecristo has the runs on the board at this level – he placed another three times at Group level including the Gold Cup in 2019 – two horses to follow in 2020 in Grand Koonta and Gingerella will keep things interesting.
Grand Koonta was in rare form in 2019 and showed he is up to handicap Group level when just missing in the EW Barker in November.
This now five-year-old Irish-bred has drawn wide for this in gate 13 but with 52kg looks a leading chance and may give Alysha Collett a bright start to the Lunar New Year.
Gingerella stamped her Group credentials with a solid run in the Lion City Cup at WFA level in May – her last run in 2019 – and returned to racing this month with a good win, albeit in Class 2 Company.
She has plenty of upside with that run under her belt and may be the lightweight danger and give Apprentice M Nizar an early career highlight.
The chances don’t stop there with the likes of Bold Thruster likely to come in for strong support, while What’s New is perhaps the most underrated horse in Singapore and should figure.
Best Bets: Chalaza Race 4, Win; Rocket Star Race 8, Win; and Gingerella Race 9, value.
Jackpot: Race 7 (1, 2, 5, 10 and 12; Race 8 (4, 5, 7 and 11); Race 9 (2, 3, 5, 8 and 13: Race 10 (1, 2, 3 and 4).

Selections; 3 MY BOSS – 1 HEART OF COURAGE – 2 MISS MICHELLE – 10 LUCK MAK MAK
The Year of the Rat and what better way to start than with a Class 5 Poly dash over 1100m. The field looks top-heavy and two recent Class droppers should figure with MY BOSS perhaps the pick on the back of a last start Class 4 placing. The 4YO ran on well on that occasion and from gate 2 with Simon Kok to ride, he should have every chance to show his best late and will be hard to hold out. HEART OF COURAGE has had a few runs in Class 5 after some solid Class 4 form and headgear added today suggest he can win with Woodworth up from gate 5. MISS MICHELLE got a stitch late last start but was in good form prior – including two wins – and she will run a very cheeky race again. The winning chances fall away quickly after this but LUCK MAK MAK won a weak on last start and has to be respected.
Betting Strategy – MY BOSS win.
1 HEART OF COURAGE *** Looks due, blinkers and pacifiers help and can win this. 4.00
2 MISS MICHELLE *** Got tired late last start so back to 1100m a good move and very forward run expected. 4.00
3 MY BOSS *** Ran on super this trip in Class 4 last start to be in the winning mix and hard to hold out here. 4.00
4 ELITE SAINT ** Can mix his form but have to respect from gate 1 with market a good guide. 12
5 HERO STAR ** More good runs than bad of late and should figure. 8.00
6 WONDERFUL ERA ** Resuming after pulling up lame last start and place two back this grade so can consider in exotics. 20
7 LIM’S RHYTHM * Ran on well last start so some in hand but better on turf over longer. 20
8 WINNER NUMBER ONE * Placed three back but nothing since. 50
9 ELENA OF AVALOR ** Drops back from 1700m but gets blinkers and versatile enough to keep safe. 12
10 LUCK MAK MAK ** Won in a weak field last start but in form and should be competitive. 12
11 TUSCAN ARTIST * Drawn wide and back in trip and may be better suited on the turf. 33
12 RICH FORTUNE * Battles. 100
Selections; 1 SIAM ROYAL ORCHID – 2 LONGHU – 6 YULONG GREEN – 9 CLARTON TREASURE
Although drawn wide and being beaten as the even money favourite last start, SIAM ROYAL ORCHARD might be better than most of these and looks hard to beat. The 4YO rarely runs a bad race and loves the Poly and you would expect Simon Kok to go forward from the wide gate and make his own luck. LONGHU looks the danger. The 7YO was ridden quiet last start from a wide gate and his effort to keep his stablemate honest was good enough to think he is ready to win again with gate 5 a bonus. YULONG GREEN is yet to win in Singapore but is very competitive and while he will need luck from gate 11, he has Duric and should keep the faves honest. Go wide in exotics with special mention to CLARTON TREASURE who resumes with some good trials under his belt with value the key.
Betting Strategy – SIAM ROYAL ORCHID win, saver on CLARTON TREASURE.
1 SIAM ROYAL ORCHID *** Drawn wide but just lost a two horse battle last start with good support and can win this. 2.80
2 LONGHU *** Placed after being ridden quiet from wide gate last start. Expect more forward run from gate 5 and can win. 4.00
3 CROWN GIFT ** Better over longer again and drawn wide but placed two back over 1000m on the Poly so pay to keep very safe. 12
4 SUN DREAM * Needs to improve. 50
5 ROBIN HOOD ** Form better than it reads and looks a good value option in this field with gate 1 a bonus. 20
6 YULONG GREEN *** Yet to win in Singapore but always in the mix and goes close with luck from wide gate. 4.00
7 YULONG MEDAL * Blinkers off and back in trip but needs to show much more. 50
8 DREAM COMES TRUE * Battling. 50
9 CLARTON TREASURE ** Resuming with two nice trials under his belt and should be more than competitive. 12
10 HOSAYLIAO ** Excuses not to go very close last start in an albeit weaker Class 4 field. Keep safe. 12
11 SMILING PROUD * Drawn wide and needs longer. 33
12 LIM’S RAY ** Back in trip but won maiden over 1200m on the Poly and gets blinkers back so should improve at odds. 20
13 HIGH LIMIT * Will enjoy being back on the Poly but like to see in Class 5. 33
14 ATLANTEAN * Like to see in easier Company but competitive on his day. 33
Selections; 5 HIDDEN PROMISE – 1 AMAZING CHOICE – 6 MR ROCKWELL – 2 PERFORMANTE
A Class 5 mile on the turf with plenty of improvers down in Class and a couple with their foot on the till in similar affairs to this. The obvious pick on recent Class 5 form is MR ROCKWELL who couldn’t run down Mings Man last start but from gate 1 with a Simon Kok 2kg claim, he gets his chance to make quick amends. But Mark Walker has two strong chances in AMAZING CHOICE and HIDDEN PROMISE and not much separates the two. The fact Benny Woolworth takes the ride on HIDDEN PROMISE may be seen as a pointer for punters and the 7YO is due over his favourite trip, however, AMAZING CHOICE will find Class 5 to his liking and some recent form over the mile in better Company suggests he wins without surprising. PERFORMANTE has yet to win in Singapore but also appreciates the drop to Class 5, while the maiden ATTENTION also looks due in what is suitable company. Go wider again in exotics.
Betting Strategy – HIDDEN PROMISE win, saver on AMAZING CHOICE.
1 AMAZING CHOICE *** Drawn wide but significant drop in Class and gets blinkers added. Can improve and win over a suitable trip on turf. 12
2 PERFORMANTE *** Yet to win in Singapore but another Class dropper who improves lengths with trip ideal. 12
3 KRANJI GOLD ** Disappointing last start over 1200m but jockey suggested better over more ground so keep safe. 8.00
4 DREAMER LEGEND ** Form reads badly but runs on when in the mood and Class 5 helps his cause. 20
5 HIDDEN PROMISE *** Ran on well last start, loves the mile and hard to hold out. 5.00
6 MR ROCKWELL *** Hard to fault form, gets the favours from gate 1 and will look the winner at some stage late. 3.00
7 ATTENTION *** Maiden status a concern but appreciates Class 5 and can win sans blinkers over a suitable trip. 20
8 MILLENNIUM’S RULE ** Not the type to win out of turn but will work into this late and should figure. 8.00
9 KEEP WINNING ** Always some show for exotics but may need longer to show his best. 20
10 SUN SPEAR * Thereabouts as a rule without being a threat and this race has depth. 33
11 BOUNCEBACK ABILITY * Nothing last start but better form on the Poly with tongue-tie added for this. 33
12 GOLD COMPANY ** Long-term maiden who has run on and been in the mix in similar affairs of late and have to respect. 12
13 WEST NORTH HILL ** Blinkers off after two good runs and might add value to exotics. 20
14 PACIFIC OCEAN * Maiden who struggles as a rule. 100
Selections; 1 CHALAZA – 2 RESTRAINED – 3 MADE IN RUSSIA – 5 INHERIT
Plenty of winning chances in this Class 4 1400m event and while the top-weight, CHALAZA, looks hardest to beat, some horses with excuses last start suggests there could be some value options. But CHALAZA is due, 1400m looks ideal and he is the one to beat with a handy 2kg Simon Kok claim a bonus. Two horses that had excuses last start in RESTRAINED and INHERIT can figure here. RESTRAINED found himself bolting out front with one other horse last start and that was costly as he did look due prior and a senior hoop in R Munger suggests he has a say here. INHERIT lost his position at a crucial time last start and had some in hand late and if Duric gets any luck from the wide alley, he goes close. Of the others to consider, MAGNIFICENT GOLD resuming looks well-placed this trip to show his best, while ELISE is usually tested over the trip but his record with Woodworth suggests a very cheeky run is on the cards. Go even wider in exotics.
Betting Strategy – CHALAZA win, saver on RESTRAINED.
1 CHALAZA *** Foot on the till since dropping to Class 4 and hard to hold out over 1400m with handy 2kg claim. 3.00
2 RESTRAINED *** Did himself no favours in bolting group last start but senior hope helps and can figure at value. 12
3 MADE IN RUSSIA *** Ran on very well last start and 1400m on the turf looks ideal with blinkers to visor. 5.00
4 ELISE ** Form only fair of late and query the trip but has an extremely good record with Woodworth and could pinch this with blinkers added. 20
5 INHERIT *** Drawn wide but excuses last start and work late suggests some in hand and can consider on form prior this trip. 6.00
6 MAGNIFICENT GOLD *** Resuming in what looks a very suitable race. Will get every chance with Rodd from gate 2. 6.00
7 BLITZ POWER ** Swooper who is always a chance in races like this if race run to suit. 12
8 BORN TO WIN ** Drawn wide and up in Class but in form and pay to keep safe. 12
9 SUN ACE ** Resuming after a disappointing run but can consider on honest form prior with no weight. 20
10 HIGHGATE * Runs on when on song but may need easier. 33
11 SPORTSCASTER * Ran on well last start suggesting some in hand but may need easier, longer and Poly. 33
12 BENCOOLEN * Has struggled since maiden win and needs easier than this with visor off. 50
Selections; 4 SPUR ME ON – 1 SUPER EMPEROR – 10 THOTH WARRIOR – 9 SHE’S THE ONE
A shocking race and to be honest, the favourite – SPUR ME ON – probably starts close to odds-on and that suggests punters should play with care. But SPUR ME ON ran second in a weak race last start and that form holds up here and with Simon Kok from gate 1, he should really win. Oddly, the main danger on recent form is the second emergency who ran third in the same race as SPUR ME ON, so obviously keep an eye on scratching’s. On best form, SUPER EMPEROR and THOTH WARRIOR would have a say so watch the tote and respect the pair, while SHE’S THE ONE is better over longer but will find himself in the mix in this weak field.
Betting Strategy – small forecast SPUR ME ON and SHE’S THE ONE.
1 SUPER EMPEROR ** Has been disappointing since dropping to Class 5 but this race is weak enough to improve. 5.00
2 WINS * Impossible on maiden race form but having first start in Class 5 and blinkers back on so watch for support. 12
3 DEE MAK MAK * The odd placing but struggles as a rule. 20
4 SPUR ME ON *** Ran second in a weak one this trip last start but this looks no harder and gets his chance from gate 1. 2.00
5 MA BAO BAO * Blinkers back on but has struggled since placing three back and not for me. 20
6 YULONG DREAM * Back in trip with blinkers off and didn’t need wide alley. 33
7 MAJULAH * Shown nothing this campaign. 50
8 ANTARES * Resuming and impossible on form. 50
9 SHE’S THE ONE ** Better over longer but this field weak enough to have a say with best work expected late. 16
10 THOTH WARRIOR ** Tough to follow but better than most on his day and should go close from gate 2. 4.00
11 YULONG SHENGDAO * Headgear and tongue-tie off but hard to have over this trip. 50
12 HOSTWIN CHEVALIER * Blinkers off but no. 100
13 MY MIRACLE * Not for me. 50
14 BRING ME JOY *** Ran third in a weak one last start this trip and would go very close if he gets a start. 4.00
Selections; 8 MR MALEK – 1 AFALONHRO – 6 BUURAQ – 7 KIMITONARA
On a day with some serious races on the card, this Novice holds it’s own with two serious last start winners in AFALONHRO and MR MALEK going head to head. Who wins? AFALONHRO has race fitness on his side and given the ease in which he put away his rivals last start to register his maiden win you would think he handles the top weight here and should be running on strongly at the business end. He won’t get it as easy as last start though as MR MALEK was just as impressive when winning his maiden and perhaps even more so given the depth of that field; with two trials under his belt, he should be fit enough to give a sight from gate 2. It’s never a race in two in these types of races and BUURAQ ran on super after blowing the start at his most recent run and will keep them honest, while KIMITONARA, THE WILD BUNCH, ALLEGRO and WAR FRONTIER all can figure.
Betting Strategy – MR MALEK win, saver on BUURAQ.
1 AFALONHRO *** Bolted in when breaking Maiden status last start and looks more than up to this Company. 4.00
2 ALLEGRO ** Can mix his form and may need easier but 3kg claim helps so can include in exotics. 33
3 FIGHT TO VICTORY * Has speed but edging towards Class 5 and that looks his caper. 100
4 QIJI FLYER * Maiden who is eligible for easier. 100
5 RED ROAR * Maiden who struggles. 200
6 BUURAQ *** Ran on super late last time out after a bad start. Will have admirers back on winning surface. 4.00
7 KIMITONARA ** Freshened with a solid trial after placing in good Class 4 Company last start. Goes close with luck from wide alley. 12
8 MR MALEK *** Resuming after giving some handy maidens a lesson over this trip and track at start two. That form has been franked and very hard to beat. 2.00
9 THE WILD BUNCH ** Cashed in on some good trial form when winning on debut and can consider although gate will test in this Company. 16
10 RESOLUTION * Maiden win in Class 5 and should find this too tough. 50
11 WAR FRONTIER ** Ambitious maiden who has had two cracks at Group level from just four career starts. Just missed last time out so include in exotics at odds. 33
12 YOU QIAN ZHUAN * US-bred gelding who won on the poly on debut and may be tested from wide gate on turf. 20
Selections; 2 CIRCUIT MISSION – 1 TESORO PRIVADO – 12 VITTORIA PERFETTA – 10 THREEANDFOURPENCE
The class rests with top two at the weights in this Kranji Stakes B over 1600m. TESORO PRIVADO is fitter for recent outings and steps up to a suitable trip; as a younger horse he ran fourth in the Singapore Guineas, he will go forward here and be hard to run down. CIRCUIT MISSION returned lame in the Group 3 Colonial Chief last start over this trip and has been freshened; he is better suited here, has won at the trip and should be prominent. Of the others, VITTORIA PERFETTA was run down late last start, is improving and has the speed to overcome the wide gate, while AUGUSTUS has not been far away at three outings since resuming and should be handy throughout. Include KARISTO, THREEANDFOURPENCE, TIME LORD and CLAUDIA’S BEAUTY in exotics.
Betting Strategy – CIRCUIT MISSION win.
1 TESORO PRIVADO *** Fitter for recent outings and steps up to suitable trip. Can go forward and be hard to run down. 3.50
2 CIRCUIT MISSION *** Pulled up lame in Group 3 last start over this trip and has been freshened. Better suited here and should be prominent. 4.00
3 LETITGO ** Has won past two poly outings over this trip and has handled the turf previously. Gate could test. 16
4 CLAUDIA’S BEAUTY ** Tough to follow but placed over this trip four starts back before failures in Group Company. Better suited this class and should be running on. 8.00
5 KARISTO ** Bolted in on poly last start. This is harder but trip suits and should be prominent. 12
6 WOLF WARRIOR * Battled when resuming. Will appreciate extra distance but needs the poly. 33
7 STAR JACK ** Resuming. Best efforts over longer but should be handy throughout. 33
8 TIME LORD * Has been disappointing since Class 3 win six starts back. Gets blinkers and could improve over this trip. 14
9 AUGUSTUS ** Not far away at three outings since resuming. Won twice at this trip before arrival. Should be handy throughout 8.00
10 THREEANDFOURPENCE ** Only battled in Group 3 last start. Won over this trip before arrival and can improve for Michael Rodd on the back of a good trial. 16
11 ELITE REMARKABLE * Has struggled since arriving in Singapore. Needs to improve. 33
12 VITTORIA PERFETTA ** Run down late last start. Improving and has the speed to overcome gate. 8.00
13 CENTENARY DIAMOND ** Struggled on poly last start but could improve at long odds back on his preferred surface. 50
Selections; 7 ROCKET STAR – 5 CATCH THE TIGER – 11 WHISTLE GRAND – 4 ABSOLVIDO
The most interesting runner in this Class 4 over 1400m is ROCKET STAR. A Star Witness 3YO trained by Ricardo Le Grange, he placed behind two good ones in the Group 3 Saas Fee over 1200m last start and has trialled well since; 1400m with blinkers off looks ideal and he should have the class to prevail. CATCH THE TIGER disappointed on the poly last start after good win over 1200m when resuming; he is better suited here having won his Maiden at this trip and from a good gate should be prominent. WHISTLE GRAND ran on to place last start over 1600m following his Maiden win this trip and should get a good run throughout here. ABSOLVIDO doesn’t win often but is rarely far away; he has won at 1400m and will be running on. Include STREET PARTY, SUN MONARCH, SUN KING, OPTIMUM STAR and LEATHERHEAD in exotics.
Betting Strategy – ROCKET STAR win.
1 SUN KING ** Won three times and placed at Listed level up to 1600m in UK and Ireland from 11 starts. Trialled fairly but should be up to this grade in Singapore. Watch market. 20
2 HOWL * Caught wide and led before fading over 1000m on poly last start. Better on turf but failed at only previous attempt at 1400m. 16
3 BARBEQUE * Has only battled at recent outings. Needs to improve. 33
4 ABSOLVIDO *** Doesn’t win often but is rarely far away. Has won at 1400m and will be running on. 6.00
5 CATCH THE TIGER *** Disappointed on poly last start after good win over 1200m on poly when resuming. Won Maiden at this trip and from good gate should be prominent. 5.00
6 SUN MONARCH ** Caught wide and battled on at Singapore debut. Won Donald Maiden over 1620m before arrival so extra distance should suit. Can be prominent from good gate. 8.00
7 ROCKET STAR *** Freshened with good trial after placing behind two good ones in Group 3 Saas Fee over 1200m. Blinkers off over 1400m looks a good move. Can win. 4.00
8 SILVER SKY ** Placed over this trip five starts back and just missed on poly two starts back. Hard to follow but can run on. 20
9 WISAKA * Struggled when resuming and has changed stables. Only win was at 1600m. Watch market. 50
10 LEATHERHEAD ** Just missed over this trip three starts back and battled on last start. Finds it hard to win but will battle away. 20
11 WHISTLE GRAND *** Ran on to place last start over 1600m following Maiden win this trip. Should get a good run throughout. 6.00
12 STREET PARTY ** Has run on at past three poly starts and just missed last attempt this class and distance. Could surprise. 16
13 OPTIMUM STAR ** Love to see on the poly but has placed at past two attempts this class and distance. Will get back but can run on. 16
Selections; 2 COUNTOFMONTECRISTO – 8 GRAND KOONTA – 13 GINGERELLA – 5 WHAT’S NEW
A highly competitive field for this Group 3 and plenty of winning hopes at the race conditions. And most of the winning hopes are racing first up after big races last year including COUNTOFMONTECRISTO after a bold effort in Singapore Gold Cup; he races well fresh winning the Merlion Cup first-up last preparation, has won twice at the trip and with Michael Rodd to ride on the back of a good trial, he must be respected. GRAND KOONTA is first up after just missing from wide gate in the Group 2 EW Barker over this trip and that may well be the best guide to this race; he is poorly drawn again but trialled well recently, Alysha Collett stays on and he will be hard to hold out. BOLD THRUSTER cost himself the New Year Cup by missing the start; with Vlad Duric up he has the speed to cross if well away but 1400m may test. WHAT’S NEW is always a winning show over this trip and may be value and GINGERELLA has some upside after a good first up win on the Poly and is a horse worth following. Go as wide as the budget permits in exotics.
Betting Strategy – COUNTOFMONTECRISTO win, saver on GINGERELLA.
1 WAR AFFAIR * Resuming. 9YO who is a light of other days. 33
2 COUNTOFMONTECRISTO *** Freshened after bold effort in Singapore Gold Cup. Races well fresh, has won twice at the trip and with Michael Rodd to ride must be respected. 5.00
3 BOLD THRUSTER *** Cost himself the race at the start last outing in New Year Cup. Has the speed to cross if well away but 1400m may test with blinkers to visor. 5.00
4 PENNYWISE * Won Group 3 Colonial Chief last start over 1600m on Poly but remains a query on the turf. 33
5 WHAT’S NEW *** First up after solid effort in EW Barker. Better at 1600m but will be running on and can win at value, 16
6 SKYWALK ** Fought hard in New Year Cup. Best recent form is on poly up to 1200m and but did place at only 1400m outing in a strong class 3. Capable of surprise. 6.00
7 GOLD STRIKE ** First up after runner-up effort in Singapore Gold Cup. Will be running on fresh. 100
8 GRAND KOONTA *** First up after just missing from wide gate in EW Barker. Poorly drawn again but Alysha Collett stays on and will be hard to hold out on the back of a good trial. 4.00
9 SURPASS NATURAL ** Disappointed in New Year Cup but has trialled well since. Won only previous turf outing but take on trust at 1400m. 20
10 ELITE POWER ** Only battled in New Year Cup after being freshened following EW Barker failure when rider felt horse was amiss. Gets a gear change and has won at this trip. Can show up from good gate. 8.00
11 SACRED CROIX ** First up with blinkers after solid effort in Singapore Gold Cup. Capable fresh and could be running on. 25
12 BIRAZ ** Just missed in Jumbo Jet over this trip four starts back and not disgraced in New Year Cup. Can show up with positive ride from good gate. 16
13 GINGERELLA *** Fought hard to win on poly over 1000m in Class 2 when resuming after bold effort in Lion City Cup. Will be improved and is quality but yet to be tested at 1400m. 16
14 BUDDY BUDDY * Has been freshened since Class 4 win over 1800m. This looks too hard. 100
Selections; 3 SUPER POWER – 1 BEAU GESTE – 2 LIMITED EDITION – 4 WIND OF LIBERTY
It pays to respect Class droppers and there is some depth in this Class 4 over 1200m. SUPER POWER drops in grade and has been freshened by a solid recent trial; he placed over this trip in Class 3 three starts back and with Michael Rodd to ride, he is well placed if ready. For a horse that placed in the Hawkesbury Guineas and was competitive at Group level in Australia, BEAU GESTE has been disappointing but a drop in grade helps and his last win was this class and distance on Singapore debut; with the tongue-tie back on and a 4kg claim for Hakim he can improve. Of those with form in the Class, LIMITED EDITION as been close up in similar races at his past two outings in this grade, gets blinkers and Vlad Duric rides, while BARTIMAEUS is another that has been racing soundly in this grade and will get a good run throughout from gate two. WIND OF LIBERTY and STAR SHIELD for the exotics.
Betting Strategy – SUPER POWER win.
1 BEAU GESTE *** Has been disappointing but drop in grade helps and last win was this Class and distance on Singapore debut. Tongue-tie and 4kg claim help. 5.00
2 LIMITED EDITION *** Close up in similar races at past two outings in this grade. Poorly drawn but gets blinkers and Vlad Duric. 5.00
3 SUPER POWER *** Freshened and drops in grade with solid trial under his belt. Placed over this trip three starts back in Class 3. Can show up with Michael Rodd to ride. 3.50
4 WIND OF LIBERTY *** Fought on well when first up over 1000m. Extra distance suits and should be prominent from good gate. 10
5 BARTIMAEUS ** Caught wide and battled on to place last start on Poly. Racing soundly in this grade and should get good run throughout. 6.00
6 STAR SHIELD ** Showed speed before weakening at Singapore debut. Has been freshened and gets tongue-tie on the back of solid trial. 8.00
7 WALKING THUNDER ** Hasn’t won for a long time but had some in hand last start suggesting more to offer at odds. 33
8 VERIZON * Resuming. Yet to win in Singapore and may need the outing sans blinkers. 33
9 GOLDEN DASH * Led before fading last start following Class 5 win. Has speed but gate may test. 20
10 SUPERTEN * Racing well in Class 5 with two wins and a second from past three starts. Will find this harder. 25
11 SMOOTH OPERATOR * Resuming. Had respiratory issues and needs to improve on efforts last preparation. 33
12 YULONG SHENG LONG * Gets tongue-tie but all wins are at 1600m. 25
13 WINNING LEGEND ** Run down late last start in good Class 4. Shows promise and can give a sight. 20
14 LIM’S SHOT * Fought on solidly last start. Has some speed but hasn’t won for a long time. 50
