Pinjarra will play host to a bumper 12-race card on Monday.
The usual eight-race card was bolstered by an additional four races from last Wednesday’s Ascot card that were lost, due to the sudden abandonment following the news that jockey Mark Zahra was undergoing a Coronavirus test.
Zahra had been in contact with leading Perth hoop William Pike in the period between coming into contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, hence the precautionary decision.
The test taken by Zahra later came back negative.
Pinjarra would’ve actually hosted a 13-race feast on Monday, but certain wagering operators couldn’t accommodate a 13th race in their respective systems.
In another boost for WA’s coverage, races 1-7 on the 12-race card will feature on the Sky Thoroughbred Central coverage alongside the Wagga Wagga meeting, with every race available on Sky Racing 1 as well.
Sadly, there won’t be three quaddies though – with TAB slotting the early quaddie for races 5-8 and the regular quaddie for races 9-12.
Pike doesn’t have a full book for a change, but he does have a whopping 10 rides on the card that jumps at 11:05am local time (5:05am South African time)), with the last to jump at 5:25pm local (11:25am SA).
Local SA Punters should note that we can bet into a comingled Jackpot at Punjarra on races 9-12.
