Race-by-race analysis

Race 1 (16:20 SA time):

2 Jeanet Newport won her first three races of the season. In her last race she galloped shortly after the start when she was obstructed. Pål Buer wants to go for the lead here and from this position Jeanet Newport is the one to beat. 3 Royalty Street was second behind Wishmaster in his last race. He doesn’t win too often but has met better horses than this and with Svein Ove Wassberg driving, is an interesting outsider. 8 Malkin probably has the most potential in this pack but he has had health issues during his career. The reports say he is fitter than he has been in a long time but he hasn’t raced since August last year. He fights for a place at the podium. 7 Super Strong was positive in his last start and now has had three races this year to find his form.

Race 2 (16:45 SA time):

This is a very open race for betting. 6 Opseth Elma is in the hunt for her first victory of the season. She finished well last time and always does her best. We’re not sure if the starting position could cause problems but we have faith in Svein Ove Wassberg’s ability to handle the task. 3 Suksess Med Bless was first over the leader in her last race and was third in the same race where Opseth Alma was second. 20 meters separates them once again and we’re up for a tight race. 5 Bjørketora does her first race since March 2018. She has had a foal in the meantime! Did a nice qualification race and is dangerous to forget. 1 Verdals Susi won her first race of the season but we’re not sure about her form at the moment. She galopped with 1000 meters left in her last race. 2 Lisabella and 11 Kleppe Maia are both capable of a place in the top of the result list.

Race 3 (17:10 SA time):

5 Bolero did a good race for his new trainer Bente Vågenes in his last race. He attacked with 800 meters to go. He has an interesting task here and he could maybe get to the front together with driver Pål Buer. 11 N.Y. Lovemelikeyoudo is probably the best horse in the pack but she has to avoid gallop. She was second behind Jeanet Newport on February 8th. She could win this. 8 Julia Ressie did well last season and won three races. Makes her second start of the season and has probably improved. 9 Heinz B.R. and 2 Lillian Sjöhammar could fight for places at the podium.

Race 4 (17:33 SA time):

Several good horses in this race and it is quite open for betting if our favorite isn’t in top form after being away from racing since the end of February. 10 Sylv Odin is very talented and has won six of his 11 races so far. Has won both his races in 2020. The break has only done him good according to his trainer and he is well prepared. 12 V.G. Prinsen did well in his last race. He is quick and could get a good position at an early stage. He can challenge. 1 Dag Frøya has an interesting task here and could be dangerous if she can hold on to the lead. Watch out for 9 Rigel Øyvind, he is much better than his last results show and could make a surprise here.

Race 5 (17:53 SA time):

Six horses fight for the victory – who has the best form on the race day? 12 Jailhouse Banker has a bad starting position but it doesn’t matter that much when the distance is this long. He has won four of his five races so far this season and has been very good. He has won on this distance before and has the best driver. 7 Bellatrix has high levels and was very impressive in her last race. She does her best races form the front position or when she’s first over the leader so the driver will be offensive. 1 Esperanza Trunoise galloped before the start last time but did very well after that and was fourth. She has been up against really good horses earlier and is a very interesting outsider this time. 11 Gukko Raw will appreciate high tempo and the distance should suit him well. 10 Maxundalex finished very well in his last race and won over the same distance on January 30th. 2 Easy To Win should have improved after his last race. Has a good starting position and likes the distance.

Race 6 18:13 SA time):

4 Valle Max probably would have won on April 27th if he hadn’t galloped with 600 meters left. In his last race he galloped on the straight line. If he doesn’t gallop here he could win. 12 Art Miklagard probably needed the race last time to find his form. He did a good recovery after gallop on March 5th. He will fight for the victory. 10 Rano Hilda did very well last time and has a good starting position. She will fight for a place at the podium. 11 Hage Jerven hasn’t raced for two months and may need this race to find his form. Won four races last year.
