Heat is on for Jozi In July

According to the weather report, a mild winter’s day has been forecast for Joburg, but the heat will be up at Turffontein to celebrate the July In Jozi, brought to you by World Sports Betting.

The sponsors and the on-course marketing team have joined forces to make this a special day with great food, wonderful betting opportunities and, of course, superb racing.

“At World Sports Betting (WSB) we got out of the gates fast this year. Even with the postponement of the race meeting, we launched our annual ‘Deposit Match’ promo on 1 July and let it run the entire month,” said Ryno du Plessis, Marketing Manager for World Sports Betting.

That offer is a 100% deposit match up to R20,000 on ALL DEPOSITS for the month of July.

“This has really been popular with the clients,” added De Plessis. “We also have a special promotion on Do it Again where we are offering to double up winnings in Free Bets if he wins.

“I think this really adds to the excitement of his attempt to become the first horse to win the Vodacom Durban July three times.

“Lastly, we have been offering a daily promotion with Deez Dayanand where punters have been invited to follow his daily treble and get 25% of their stakes back if the bet loses.

“We are doubling this refund to 50% for July day for both Turffontein and Greyville racing!”

Deez Dayanand also hosted trainer Joe Soma and champion jockey Lyle Hewitson in a discussion about the Durban July card, which was aired on You Tube. “All things considered it went very well. The guys had a blast and the punters got some real value out of it.

“Besides the massive price boosts throughout the actual broadcast, I think the insights from the two horsemen will aid a few punters in their decisions for the big race.”

Du Plessis said there had been early support for Vardy, Do It Again and Rainbow Bridge. “There has also been support for both Shango and Got The Greenlight since the Jockey change was announced (Hewitson moved to Shango and Muzi Yeni on Got The Greenlight).

“The July is always an open race no matter what the betting says. It’s a field of champions so the best way to play it is to simply back which ever champion YOU like best. They are all capable.”

And what does he fancy to win South Africa’s premier horserace? “Like most my heart is with Do it Again, but I am putting my money on Miyabi Gold to upset.”

There will be huge carryovers on the Greyville meeting, with both the Pick 6 and Durban July Quartet pools expected to reach R15 million!

World Sports Betting will, of course, be sponsoring all races at Turffontein and we look forward to seeing the WSB orange in display on the big day.

“Hats off to the Gold Circle and Phumelela teams for putting the race days together under these unique circumstances,” concluded Du Plessis.
