The stake for the Emerald Cup over 1450m was last week increased to R600 000 and it remains the richest race on dirt in the southern hemisphere.<br /> <br /> This week there are two meetings at the Vaal – Tuesday and Thursday – with both fixtures due to be run on the sand track.
